NOTICE FOR EVENT/LOCATION MANAGERS/MANAGEMENT
For event location managers and venue managers, please note that the services provided as described within this website are provided legally with all articles and required instruments to satisfy legal and health and safety requirements in place with supporting information where needed being readily available on this site.
In strict adherence to data protection and to protect business relations, Naijamaican is unable to engage with any venue or location management who wish to use referencing or require revelation of information, photographic and or material including the identity of clientele or location/s where services may have been provided previously in order to permit prospective clientele to use the service/s that Naijamaican provides for delivery at their location.
Please never ring up asking me to provide discounted, cheap or free food in exchange for television exposure. I do not want or need to be on television, and do not want to be shot on my good side. If you have an event and want a cook that will go on telly, then please call Gordon Ramsays' public relations or agents department.
Shouldy any venue or location management require clarification other than as seen on the site, please telephone in the first instance 0845 388 6709 or email info@naijamaican.co.uk stating clearly in your subject matter that you are LOBBYING CATERING for your venue to facilitate a response.
Naijamaican is happy to provide an attendance to direct service where your chef is given full directions on what goods to purchase and support to cook meals for a fee of £1950.00 for a six hour session and £250 for every hour therafter. In principle, this service is suited to event locations where internal policy does not allow for outside catering to be used and do not provide free access to kitchens to patrons either for a fee or as part of their packages. This involves provision of a full shopping list and attendance to provide direction/guidance on preparing a Nigerian or Jamaican Meal/Meals without any hands on involvement, basically, I will not touch the food and you need to provide a chair for me to sit in while I tell you what to do.
Some venues ask for risk assessments and health and safety documents and policies. Whilst Naijamaican has risk assessments and health and safety policies including employee and fire risk and health and safety assessments, it is not legally required to provide these documents to the public. A health and safety policy is available on this site. Due to the nature of the work, this oulines the general risks and safety measures put in place and taken to safeguard staff and customers at all venues attended.
Risk and Health and safety assessments are usually location specific and it is the responsibility of the venue to ensure that any risk assessments are carried out at the time of taking a booking from clients by getting a clear outline or listing of what the use of the event entails. Beyond this, the venue have legal obligation to provide access to:
Health and Safety policy in force at the venue.
Documents that show proof of registration as a premises that permits service of cooked foods or providing cooking facilities to clients with the local authority within whose jurisdiction they fall and or licenced premises permits. - Please note, personal permits are no longer provided, it is the premises that needs to register with the local authority. They then have responsibility provide training and guidance to users to aid compliance.
Confirmation of provision of access to portable water, if the source is within a kitchen a confirmation of waiver of any extra cost applied for clients who require full use of a kitchen as Naijamaican can provide hot food without need for access to a kitchen, but need to have access to a wash hand basin with hot water and potable water source eg a sink this is required by law.
Documents that outline a list of equipment and where relevant details of how to operate these.
Copy of fire and accident policies.
Details of who to contact in the eventualilty of any emergency and what to do.
If the venue wants a risk assessment done for them by Naijamaican, the cost of this is £450, chargeable and invoiced to the event location company who may then decide whether or not to pass this cost to the customers.
Naijamaican is happy to provide a full printed pack outlining services provided, prices, costs, scope and range of service including insurance documents at a price of £20.00 + VAT for you to show to your clients or read yourself. There is no force of duty to attend to provide catering at any venue. In plain english this means I do not jump through hoops to provide catering anywhere. If you want to use the service, then worry yourself to make sure that the venue will allow this. Do NOT worry me.

As a small business, it is uneconomical to make extra expenditure procuring and preparing documents and long hours of liaison to suit venues who are seeking professional specialist cuisine.
